Ever considered protecting your house from flooding?

Imagine losing that lovely piece of antique furniture that has been passed down from generation to generation. Heartbreaking!

Flooding inside the basement is something that you never want to see happening. This is because the basement is where the rest of your house is founded on. For this reason, there is a great need to keep this particular area dry and clean, and the best way to achieve this is to have your basement waterproof.

There are several ways to have the basement waterproofed, but not all of them can be considered effective. Given this, there is a need for you to find out which method will be suited to the kind of basement that you have.

One of the most common means of basement waterproofing is the so-called French Drain which is usually applied in newly-built houses. Traditionally installed just outside the house, the French Drain is intended to direct water away from your home so that this never gets to the basement area. As this is constructed outside rather than inside the basement, this particular method is considered by many as highly-effective, but only if there are no other factors contributing to the possible entry of water into your home foundation.
